The United Nations General Assembly is set to celebrate 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables. The decision was made to educate the public on importance of fruits and vegetables.

The goal is to educate the public on the need to maintain a healthy diet. It also emphasizes the sustainable production of fruits and vegetables. The UN aims to promote fruit production and sales globally.

The UN concerned about the global economic, ecological and social impacts of the losses on the marketing of fruits and vegetables.

They are also adopting innovative technologies and farming practices to offset the losses in production of fruits and vegetables.

The idea behind such an annual event is to educate people around the world on the need to maintain a balanced diet and a better lifestyle, make aware of the nutrients and health benefits of using fruits and vegetables.

Everyone knows that adding fruits and vegetables to your diet is good for health. Fruits and vegetables are also very good for mental health. They have been found to positive for life and to reduce mental tension. 

A study in Australia has found that eating one slice of fruit is more beneficial than walking eight days a month.

Studies show that proteins in fruit can help to arouse mood and relieve tension.

Studies have shown that a diet of fruits and vegetables can improve memory.

The study is based on  28,000 men average age of 51 in  20 years. Every last four years of 20 years, only fruits and vegetables were included in their diet.

Antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E in fruits and vegetables are resistant to memory loss. Scientists have discovered that flavonoids and carotenoids are contributing factors to prevent memory loss.

The skin of fruits and vegetables is rich in nutrients. Peel of orange has more vitamin C than its petals. Apple's peel has four times more vitamin than the fruit itself. 

Potatoes are rich in iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6 and vitamin C. The skin of sweet potatoes contains beta-carotene. It is good for the health of the cells and for the immune system.

You can also eat kiwi fruit's skin. It contains flavonoids and antioxidants. Do not peel the skin when you eat mangoes. Because It contains carotenoids, omega-3s, omega-6s and polyunsaturated fatty acids. 

The skin of the carrot is rich in phytonutrients. It also contains vitamin A. Citrullin named antioxidants contains in carrot more than the watermelon's skin.

The skin of the onion contains quercetin. Peel the onion in a bowl and boil for 30 minutes, let it to cool overnight. You can use it to wash your hair.

The skin of bananas contains tryptophan, an amino acid. Luteum in it has good for eye health
