"Group Booking can Made for Train Trips | Indian Railway Announced Bulk Booking"

As of now bulk booking can make for train journey in India. Travelers can make group booking on train from now on. Station Masters and Chief Reservation Officers given authority  to inspect and sanction it.

So far, a maximum of 30 people had allowed to book toge****ther. On top of that, the bulk booking requires the approval of the Assistant Commercial Manager, the Divisional Commercial Manager and the Chief Commercial Manager. This power was given to the Station Masters and the Chief Reservation Officer. Southern Railway approved the project after a successful six-month pilot project.

The limit set for seats on trains for mass bookings has also been changed. In early booking had limited to a maximum of 50 per cent of the sleeper class and 30 per cent of the rest of the class seats. This limit has now been changed.

Group bookings can made up to 120 days before the train ticket booking. However, the booking start at 8 am but the first day of the group booking starts at 9 pm. Group bookings can made from the 119th day on regular time.


Required people should approach directly for group bookings. Not possible through travel agencies. Railway authorities to be convinced for the need of bulk booking. Then only booking allowed.

  • After checking your documents, IRCTC will suggest you to invest Rs 1,180 to create the IRCTC ID.
  • Digital certificate will be issued after OTP and video verification.
  • After getting the digital certificate through the courier, you must deposit the fee to IRCTC.
  • After remittance of your fee, IRCTC will be send your IRCTC credentials via email.
  • Now you became an authorized agent and you can start book tickets online for your clients.
