Most tourists visits the tourist destination Ponmudi in Trivandrum. But ever do you want to spend your holiday trip by bus, car or motor bike by forest?

If your answer is yes then you can go an ideal place to a drive  tour, that is Bonakkad.

Bon Ecord - colloquially Bonacaud

Bonakkad is the base camp of Agasthya mountain. It lies in the border of Trivandrum, Kerala. You can drive here through forest and see streams, various birds and  small hills in short trekking.

To enter here you must take permission from Kerala Forest Department.

Pandipath - 6 km trekking, wild beasts and other wild animals are attractions.


How To Go

Route is Trivandrum - Nedumangad via Vithura and go ahead, turn right from Theviyodu. When you reach Adiparamp here is a farm-house for cows. Mainly its for the Jersey species cows. Interested people can visit and learn about cattle farming.

After seeing the farm-house there is a waterfalls - Vazhavanthol waterfall. It is near to Forest check post. After 3 km trekking you can reach the water fall. Water spreads and flows on rocks is the specialty of this waterfalls.

There are many possibilities of attack from wild animals during trekking. So be care full.
