Paithal mala: An ideal tourist destination for trekking situated at Kannur district in a height of 1373 m above the sea level.

It is located at Kerala - Karnataka border. Kudak forest is near to it. Paithal mala (mala means hill) is an exact place for adventurous tourism. The thick forest spreads over the hills.

There is a watch tower in the hill top.

In Paithal mala mainly two trekking seasons, rainy season (Jun- Oct) and summer. How ever beware of elephants and leaches in dense forest.
Don't try to go alone trekking because it may danger. There is elephant paths in the inner forest. A tourist information centre functions in the valley of the hills, here you can get guides for the help. Lodging available here.
Remember kindly don't go with plastic bottles or similar things.

You will get bus from Thaliparambu to Pottanplavu, the place near to Paithal mala.

Pottanplavu to Paithal mala distance 6 km ( jeep services available here). Rest of 2 km you must walk to reach the destination.
